A Choir. I was asked by Allegra Galvin, then the director of The Quarterhouse Arts Centre, to set up a Choir following on from a voice workshop I had facilitated for her at the Arts Centre.
I devised and directed a concert to be performed at the Wow Festival at The Quarterhouse in Folkestone 2016: accompanied by Nina Clarke on Guitar. Below is a slideshow with the voices from a Contemporary Opera Theatre Company, directed by Orlando Gough, The Shout with whom I sang recorded and toured with for many years. ‘Why do you sing?’ composed by Orlando.
The Harmony groups were named Daisies, Poppies and Bluebells, flowers that I love: we dressed accordingly. I believe in the theatre of the performance, in keeping with the heart of the show…Daisy below: 4th from left. She sang her last songs with us just before Christmas: below. She died shortly afterward.. the Daisies Poppys and Bluebells were named in her memory.
The first session at The Quarterhouse. My Daughter helped me: Kasia in the centre foreground… me opposite. The rehearsals, and then the performance to a packed house:
A meeting in my Garden. Dear Wendy, who sadly died the following year, sitting on the left in the right-hand picture; we sang at her funeral.

Straight as a die the dog walks,
the thought talks,
shining blindingly off the sea the sun pierces through branches,
preserving against all evil
that ‘moment Satan cannot find’,
talking and walking at a slant,
rippling dog purpose.
A meeting near the Harbour! Anka & Annie
